On 9 October, the legendary graphic designer and multidisciplinary artist, Peter Saville, musician Stephen Morris and the Joy Division Archive, released CP1919, a digital, audio and visual NFT project, auctioned by the Pace Verso Gallery.
For followers of the designer, the sale was an unprecedented opportunity to own a piece of Saville iconography. Part of the proceeds of the sale will be donated to UK charity, Calm, in memory of Ian Curtis.
CP1919 was the named given to the original pulse of a collapsed star, rendered visually by Saville for the cover art on Joy Division’s “Unknown Pleasures” album.
